After nearly a decade together, Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez may finally be preparing to say “I do.”
The Portuguese football icon is now officially engaged to his longtime partner, with the couple confirming the news after eight years of dating.

On Monday, August 11, Georgina shared the moment with her 57 million Instagram followers, a photo of her hand resting gently on Ronaldo’s, the centrepiece an exquisite oval-cut diamond that all but told the story.
Ronaldo had hinted for years that a proposal would come when “the moment felt right.”
“I always tell her, ‘when we get that click.’ Like everything in our life, and she knows what I’m talking about,” he said, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
It could be in a year, or it could be in six months, or it could be in a month. I’m 1000% sure that it’ll happen.”
Their romance began quietly but soon became one of football’s most followed love stories. They went public in early 2017, making their first red carpet appearance together at the Best FIFA Football Awards in Zurich before going Instagram official months later.
Today, they share five children: twins Eva Maria and Mateo, 8, daughter Alana, 7, daughter Bella, 3, and Cristiano Jr., 15, Ronaldo’s firstborn, whom he welcomed before meeting Georgina.
The couple has also endured heartbreak together, announcing in April 2022 the loss of Bella’s newborn twin brother, Ángel.
