Newcastle United are ready to make a bold move in the summer transfer window. The Magpies plan to offer €73 million for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.
Elite strikers are already on the move across Europe, with Viktor Gyokeres having joined Arsenal. Victor Osimhen is close to sealing a permanent move to Galatasaray, while Hugo Ekitike has signed for Liverpool.
Newcastle United ready to swoop Benjamin Sesko
That leaves Sesko as one of the few elite forwards still available. The 22-year-old Slovenian is waiting patiently for the right move as Newcastle and Manchester United battle for his signature.
The 2024/25 Carabao Cup winners hope to strike while the window remains open. They are ready to test Leipzig’s resolve with a big opening bid.
But the hurdle for the Tyne and Wear side is Manchester United. According to Fabrizio Romano, United have contacted Sesko’s camp to discuss a possible deal.

However, Newcastle appears more serious at this stage. Still, they face a tough task. Sesko reportedly prefers a move to Old Trafford. This could make Newcastle’s deal difficult to pull off.
Yet, they remain hopeful. Their offer could match Leipzig’s demands and change the situation. If Newcastle do land Sesko, it could lead to Alexander Isak leaving. Isak was left out of the squad for their tour of Asia.
He’s being linked with a move to Liverpool. The Reds have already added Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike to their frontline.
Sesko has been impressive for Leipzig. He has 47 goal contributions (39 goals and 8 assists) in 87 matches, according to Transfermarkt.
