British heavyweight icon, Anthony Joshua, has hinted at a new venture with longtime promoter Eddie Hearn, and it’s far from the ring.
Joshua’s career has been nothing short of legendary. From Olympic gold as an amateur to holding multiple world titles as a pro, ‘AJ’ has left his mark on the sport. He’s held the IBF, WBA (Super), and WBO belts during his reign.
But at 35, his time in the squared ring is winding down. Hearn recently said Joshua has “two or three fights” left before retirement, as noted by SportBIBLE.
Anthony Joshua teases career change, plans on venturing into football
Now, it seems AJ is already plotting his next move, which appears to be football. Not as a player, but in the world of player management. Specifically, he’s eyeing the football agency business.
And he wants Eddie Hearn by his side. Taking to Instagram, Joshua tagged the Matchroom boss and pitched the idea.
He wrote: “The family has conquered darts, snooker, pool, boxing, fishing, golf, owning a football club… and you’ve had a presence in basketball, netball, and gymnastics.”
Then came the big tease: “I believe ‘we’ could look at the football agency industry and have a strong presence. Imagine we help manage the player who helped England win the World Cup. Call me tomorrow mate.”
From knocking out heavyweights to managing football stars, AJ’s next chapter might just be as exciting as his first.
